Manitoba Sends Out Invitations to 335 Applicants in New PNP Draw

Manitoba invites 335 Canadian PNP candidates for provincial nomination application on March 25. This brings the total number of PNP invitees to 1,627 for the province.

After receiving provincial nomination through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), these candidates will become permanent residents.

Manitoba sends out regular invitations to suitable candidates through one of its three PNP streams:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba
  • International Education Stream
  • Skilled Workers Overseas

Candidates from the Skilled Worker streams need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile.

The latest draw results are:

  1. Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 285 invitations with at least 423 EOI score.
  2. Skilled Workers Overseas: 9 invitations with at least 711 EOI score.
  3. International Education Stream: 41 invitations without any minimum EOI score.

Forty-nine invitations went to Express Entry (EE) candidates. These are also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs)

Ways to Immigrate To Manitoba

There are several immigration programs in Manitoba. These programs focus on attracting global talent to the province.

Manitoba government manages all the immigration through the MPNP. This program supports various immigration applications to the federal government.

Canadian provinces can’t declare permanent residency status. However, they may help an applicant by issuing provincial nominations.

To benefit from a Manitoba nomination, you will have to register an EOI with the MPNP. This will help you receive an LAA through the Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams.

Manitoba ranks its candidates out of 1,000 points for their connections to the province and human capital factors.

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba and the Skilled Workers Overseas streams let the province identify candidates who can fulfil their labour needs.

Global candidates need to exhibit their connections to Manitoba. This may be through:

  1. Close family ties.
  2. Invitation through one of Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.
  3. Previous experience in the province.

There is no need for you to live in the province during your application process to be eligible.

To receive an invitation under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, you should have a full-time job offer. This offer should be from a provincial employer.

Global graduates who complete their education in Manitoba may receive an LAA under the International Education Stream. However, they need to show that they possess in-demand skills.

EE Candidates May Receive Invitations through the MPNP

EE is the primary way for Canada to manage its skilled worker applications. A candidate may skip the PNP process and receive a PR invitation by direct application through EE.

Nonetheless, a provincial nomination will ensure that you receive an invitation from the IRCC to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Canada manages three federal immigration programs through its EE is an application management system. After submitting your profile, you will receive a ranking that will depend on your CRS score.

Your CRS score is based on several factors:

  • Age
  • Education
  • Work experience
  • Language skills

Those who receive the highest scores get an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence. This is through regular EE draws.

If you receive a provincial nomination from a PNP, you will receive an additional 600 CRS points. This takes your score high enough to receive an ITA in an EE draw.
